Introduction
This document is drawn up by the data controller, as controller of the personal data arising from browsing within this website (the “Website”).
The Controller wishes to inform users that the Website uses technical cookies to ensure the best possible browsing experience. This cookie policy (the “Cookie Policy”), which should be read together with the information given in the Privacy Policy, describes the types of cookies and other technologies used on the Website, as well as the reasons for and the conditions of their use. Please note that some cookies are necessary to allow the Website to work properly, and by continuing to browse you consent to the use of such cookies.
Users can in any case prevent cookies from being installed by configuring their browser settings, or by disabling the use of cookies through the browser directly, as set out in detail below.
Use of cookies on this website
The Website uses cookies to make its services simple and efficient for those who visit it. Users who visit the Website will see minimal amounts of information placed on the devices they are using, whether computers or mobile devices, in small text files called “cookies” saved in the directories used by the user’s web browser. There are various types of cookie: some serve to make the use of the Website more effective, others to enable particular features.
Looked at in detail, our cookies make it possible to:
- store the preferences entered, or otherwise arising from the actions or operations carried out within the website (for example the size of certain windows, the default ordering of a given list and other technical information needed to use the services offered by the website);
- avoid entering the same information several times while using the services (for example, default selections in certain choice boxes, so as to make the services easier to use).
Types of cookie
The main existing types of cookie are described below, in order to give a description by category. The specific types used by this website are set out in the section “Types of cookie used by the website”.
Technical cookies
This type of cookie allows certain sections of the Website to work properly. They fall into two categories: persistent and session cookies:
- persistent: once the browser is closed they are not destroyed but remain until a preset expiry date;
- session: they are destroyed each time the browser is closed.
Analytics cookies
Cookies in this category are used to collect information on the use of the Website. This information is used for anonymous statistical analysis, in order to improve the use of the Website and to make the content more interesting and relevant to what users are looking for. This type of cookie collects data in anonymous form on users’ activity and on how they arrived at the Website. Analytics cookies are sent by the Website itself or by third-party domains.
Third-party analytics cookies
These cookies are used to collect information on users’ use of the Website in anonymous form, such as: pages visited, time spent, sources of incoming traffic, geographical origin, age, gender and interests, for the purposes of marketing campaigns. These cookies are sent by third-party domains outside the Website.
Cookies for third-party products and features
This type of cookie integrates features developed by third parties within the pages of the Website, such as the icons and preferences expressed on social networks for sharing the Website’s content, or for the use of third-party software services (such as software generating maps and other software offering additional services). These cookies are sent by third-party domains and by partner sites that offer their features among the pages of the Website.
Profiling cookies
These are the cookies needed to create user profiles in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user within the pages of the Website.
Under the legislation in force, the Website is not required to ask for consent for technical and analytics cookies, since they are necessary to provide the services requested.
For all other types of cookie, consent may be expressed by the user in one or more of the following ways:
- through specific settings of the browser used, or of the software used to browse the pages that make up the Website;
- by changing the settings in the use of third-party services.
Third-party websites and services
Both of these options may prevent the user from using or viewing parts of the Website.
The Website may contain links to other websites which have their own privacy notice, which may differ from the one adopted by the Website. The controller of the Website’s data is therefore not responsible for third-party services.
Types of cookie used by the website
The types of cookie used are listed below, together with the purposes for which they are used.
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Technical cookies | Cookies managed by the website and needed solely to store operating settings, such as table display preferences, default orderings, default width of graphical elements and session data needed for communication with the server. |
| Cookies for third-party products and features | Third-party cookies needed to use specific features of the website (user guides, graphical components or otherwise necessary for the proper use of the services offered by the website). |
How to disable cookies from your browser
If you would like to know more about how your browser stores cookies while you browse, you can consult the instructions provided by the maker of the browser you use: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Safari, on computers as well as on iPhone and iPad.
Besides the specific opt-out methods provided by the various browsers, there are also free web tools whose purpose is to check and, where appropriate, prevent profiling by the main profiling service providers. One such tool, considered particularly effective, is Your Online Choices.
It is important to note that what emerges from the use of these tools is not linked to our website, nor in general to any specific website, but is derived from the presence of profiling cookies within the browser being used. Consequently, disabling them will not have a targeted effect on any particular website, but will affect every website that uses profiling tools relying on those specific data providers.
